HISTORIC VIDEO WALK-THROUGH of the SS UNITED STATES
videotaped while she was docked at the International Terminals in Norfolk, Virginia.
SSUS Conservancy board members say, "This is probably the last and only comprehensive video of the SS United States produced while most of her contents were still onboard!"
The video was shot while the "Big U" was opened to the public for inspection before her contents were sold and prior to her being towed to Turkey where she was totally gutted to the bulkheads. The video was produced by a professional cameraman and, because of it's historical significance, has had minimal editing. Several dark sequences have been enhanced as much as possible. The DVD consists of two professionally videotaped
available light, handheld walk-throughs on October 6 & October 8, 1984.
Total run time is approx 90 minutes.

Amassed in 1984 by Dr. Sarah Forbes, this vast collection filled the "Windmill Point Restaurant" in Nags Head, NC, for over 20 years. Dr. Forbes graciously allowed PhotoScenics inside the closed "Windmill Point" to document this incredible collection which has since been donated to the Mariner's Museum in Newport News, VA and is not available for public viewing. While "Windmill Point" is "Gone But Not Forgotten", this wonderful collection will remain intact for posterity,
exclusively through this video.
